Information We Collect

LinkLeash is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your pet information is securely stored to provide seamless functionality across the app and public website.

The app collects and stores the following information:

Data Stored in Both iCloud and AWS (for Public Website):

• Basic Pet Information: Name, photos, breed, markings, and identification details
• Contact Information: Primary and secondary contact information for emergency situations
• Key Medical Alerts: Critical medical information including allergies, conditions, and urgent health warnings
• Emergency Professional Data: Veterinarian information, medical details, weight, age, and handling instructions

Data Stored Only in iCloud (Not on Public Website):

• Comprehensive Record Keeping: Health history, vaccination records, medical alerts, insurance information, food and diet preferences, feeding schedules, reminders, and microchip information

Storage Locations: Basic pet information, contact information, key medical alerts, and emergency professional data are stored in both your personal iCloud account (for app synchronization) and securely in AWS cloud storage (to support the public-facing website functionality). Comprehensive record keeping data is stored only in your iCloud account and is not shared on the public website. Both storage locations use industry-standard encryption and security measures.

Data Storage and Security

LinkLeash stores your pet information in two secure locations:

iCloud Storage

For app synchronization and device access, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account:

• Your iCloud Account: Data stored in your personal iCloud account for seamless device synchronization
• End-to-End Encryption: Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's iCloud security protocols
• Device Synchronization: Your pet information automatically syncs across all your devices signed into the same iCloud account
• Apple's Privacy Standards: Your data is protected by Apple's comprehensive privacy and security measures

AWS Cloud Storage

To support the public-facing website functionality, select pet data is stored securely in AWS cloud infrastructure:

• What's Stored in AWS: Only basic pet information, contact information, key medical alerts, and emergency professional data are stored in AWS to enable the public-facing website features
• What's NOT Stored in AWS: Comprehensive record keeping data (health history, vaccination records, insurance details, food/diet info, reminders, etc.) is stored only in iCloud and is never shared on the public website
• Secure AWS Infrastructure: Your pet data is stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) using industry-standard security measures
• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (using TLS/SSL) and at rest using AWS encryption services
• Public Website Support: AWS storage enables the public-facing website features, allowing authorized access to your pet's basic emergency information
• Access Controls: Data access is strictly controlled and only authorized through your account and sharing settings
• Secure Data Centers: AWS data centers comply with industry certifications and security standards
• Backup and Availability: AWS provides reliable backup and high availability to ensure your data is safe and accessible

Why Both Storage Locations: iCloud storage enables seamless app synchronization across your devices and stores all your comprehensive pet records privately. AWS cloud storage supports only the public-facing website functionality with basic emergency information. Your comprehensive records remain private in iCloud only.

Data Sharing

LinkLeash protects your privacy and does not share your data with unauthorized third parties:

• No Third-Party Services: We do not integrate with analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data brokers
• Limited Access: Only you and authorized individuals you choose to share with can access your pet information
• Public Website Access: Only basic pet information, contact information, key medical alerts, and emergency professional data stored in AWS enable the public-facing website features. Access is controlled through your account settings and sharing preferences. Comprehensive record keeping data is never accessible through the public website
• User-Controlled Sharing: You have full control over any sharing of your pet's information through the app's sharing features and public profile settings
• Service Providers: We use AWS as a secure cloud storage provider. AWS is subject to strict confidentiality and security obligations, and we do not allow AWS to use your data for any purpose other than providing storage services
• Apple's Privacy Policy: iCloud storage is subject to Apple's privacy policy and terms of service

Permissions

LinkLeash may request the following permissions:

• Photo Library Access: To allow you to add and manage pet photos
• Camera Access: To take photos of your pets directly in the app
• NFC Access: To read and write NFC tags for microchip identification (if applicable)
• Notifications: To send you reminders for vaccinations, appointments, and care tasks

These permissions are used only for the core functionality of the app. iCloud access is used for storing your pet data in your personal iCloud account, and AWS cloud access is used to support the public-facing website functionality.

Emergency Information

LinkLeash allows you to store emergency contact information and critical medical alerts. This information is intended to help in emergency situations:

• Emergency contact information, key medical alerts, and emergency professional data are stored securely in both your iCloud account and AWS cloud storage for public website access
• Medical alerts and critical information are clearly marked and easily accessible on all your devices and through the public website
• You control what emergency information is stored and who can access it through your sharing and public profile settings
• Because this data is stored in both iCloud and AWS, it's available across all your devices, backed up securely, and accessible through the public website when authorized
• Comprehensive medical records (detailed health history, vaccination records, insurance details, etc.) are stored only in iCloud and are never shared on the public website

Children's Privacy

LinkLeash does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is designed to be used by pet owners to manage their pets' information. Basic pet information, contact information, key medical alerts, and emergency professional data are stored securely in both the user's iCloud account and AWS cloud storage. Comprehensive record keeping data is stored only in iCloud and never in AWS. All storage is subject to Apple's and AWS's respective privacy policies and terms of service. Parents or guardians should review their iCloud account settings and contact us if they need to manage data access or deletion for their children.

Data Deletion

You have full control over your data and can delete it at any time:

• Within the App: Delete individual pet profiles. Basic information, contact info, medical alerts, and emergency professional data will be removed from both your iCloud account and AWS cloud storage. Comprehensive record keeping data (stored only in iCloud) will also be deleted
• iCloud Settings: Manage or delete your LinkLeash data through your iCloud account settings. This will remove all data including comprehensive records that are stored only in iCloud
• AWS Data Deletion: When you delete data through the app, basic information, contact info, medical alerts, and emergency professional data are removed from AWS cloud storage. Comprehensive records are not stored in AWS. If you need to request additional data deletion from AWS, please contact us
• Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete your data from iCloud or AWS. You should delete your data through the app before uninstalling, or contact us to request deletion
• Complete Deletion: To permanently delete all LinkLeash data, you can delete it through the app, which will remove it from both iCloud (including comprehensive records) and AWS (basic emergency information). You can also contact us at linkleash-support@makergully.com to request complete data deletion

Important Notes:

• Comprehensive record keeping data is stored only in iCloud and will be deleted when you remove it from your iCloud account
• Data stored in iCloud may be retained in iCloud backups even after deletion from the app. You can manage iCloud backups through your device's Settings app
• Deleted data may remain in AWS backups for a limited period as part of our backup and disaster recovery procedures. This data is not accessible except for recovery purposes
• Some data may be retained if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as account records)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
